I declare this a Britpop Summer, gawd bless here, and all who sail in her!

Anticipation has been growing since Oasis' tour tickets went on sale at the end of last August.
Earlier this year Absolute Radio declared this a Britpop summer, and it certainly does seem to have become just that. Oasis' tour has also brought amazing performances from Cast and Richard Ashcroft.
During a wander through Carnaby Street yesterday there were bucket hats as far as the eye could see, lining up to enter the Oasis merch pop-up store.
Even bloody Tesco has started selling Britpop Summer t-shirts!!! Every little bandwagon helps!
But the summer has to end soon, and then what?
Well, several of our favourite acts have announced new tracks, albums, and tours
Here are some of the bands releasing new music:
Pulp brought out a new album,"More" and also performed their not-at-all-secret secret performance at Glastonbury.
Saint Etienne have released a couple of tracks from their new album "International".

The Charlatans new album "We Are Love" is released on  31/10, their first new album in 8 years.

Suede - new album "antidepressants" is released on 05/09/25, featuring their new song "Dance with the Europeans."
Ash - Have a new album, "Ad Astra"  being released on 03/10/25

Richard Ashcroft's new album - "Lovin' You" is to be released on 03/10/25.

Paul Weller released "Find El Dorado" last week

And Cast's new album "Yeah yeah yeah" will come out at the end of January next year.

Louise Wener from Sleeper also had a run of fantastic shows on Absolute radio, playing Britpop, and Britpop Adjacent tracks, which is well worth a listen on catch-up.

So it looks as though the Britpop Summer may also spill over into Autumn and Winter too! Yes, some of these bands have released albums since the '90s, but it seems like a perfect storm of activity is currently taking place.
Long may it continue!
